1966 was the 50th Anniversary of the Irish Easter Rising and many of us went over from Wales on a Journey in main prompted by the Celtic League and Celtic Youth Congress. A number of groups of Welsh Patriots made the journey, of course mostly Plaid Cymru and CyIG members who were particularly interested in language and cultural concerns and thus attended meetings organised by the Gaelic League on such matters and the cultural connection with the more militant Irish Struggle particularly through Gaelic Sports. See photos below of many attended these Gaelic League meetings, I and my Brother attended at least one as far as I can remember. However, more radical nationalists of the PC Young Nationalist Association, our PF members and then there was Cayo and the FWA 'contingent', these elements were more interested in the politics and militancy of the struggle and it was rather an odd thing but many who were to be involved in the Welsh 'Adfywiad Gwladgarol' post 1966 did not actually meet up in Dublin though safe to say they did soon after back home with many being involved particularly in the PF/AICC Anti - Investiture struggle as well as a few as Freedom Fighters with the FWA and MAC.
